Health & Wellbeing
We have developed a health & wellbeing framework to improve standards at Watchmoor Park. This includes initiatives for healthy eating, regular fitness classes and air quality testing.
Education
All members of staff are regularly trained on all areas of sustainability including waste management, energy use, biodiversity, the environment and much more.
Renewable Energy
All energy used in managed areas on the business park solely come from wind, solar or hydro sources.
Biodiversity
We work closely with onsite landscape team, Nurture, to develop biodiversity areas across the park, including bat and bird boxes, wildflower areas and bug hotels to encourage new wildlife to the park.
Carbon Neutral
We are committed to being carbon neutral by 2050 aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative.
Responsible Resourcing
Prioritising the reuse and procurement of recycled materials.
Our
approach
Rethinking Sustainability is structured around three core areas: consuming responsibly, focusing on people and acting progressively. We employ a disciplined approach to CSR and sustainability management and operate in line with mandatory legislation.
  • We are committed to reducing our consumption of the Earth’s limited resources and preserving them for future generations.
  • We are committed to creating a positive impact on our business communities and the local communities in which we operate.
  • We are committed to incorporating innovative solutions and sustainability criteria into the way we operate our business park.
In 2019 and 2020 we completed:
  • Certified eight buildings with BREEAM In Use and achieved two ‘Excellent’ ratings and six ‘Very Good’ ratings.
  • Continued the LED light replacement programme in managed areas and voids.
  • Taps, shower heads and WCs upgrades in managed areas to water conserving equipment.
  • Installed cycling and end of trip facilities in buildings.
  • Undertook air quality testing on all multi occupier buildings.
  • Increased the number of electric car charging points across the park.
In 2021 we are
committed to:
  • Completing climate change risk assessments and implement the recommendations.
  • Installation of smart metering and new smart sub-meters.
  • Installing more electric car charging points.
  • Implementing a Sustainable Travel Plan.
  • Installing solar panels on multi-occupier buildings.
