As part of their mission to make the world a happier and healthier place, Memiah is hosting three Mental Health First Aid training courses at their office on Watchmoor Park. Accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, the two-day courses are aimed at anyone with a line management responsibility in an organisation.
Matthew Holman, Advisor to Memiah and owner of Simpila Healthy Solutions, commented “The family who own Memiah are committed to making a difference to support those who are struggling with their mental health. The MHFA England training programme is a great opportunity for us to offer something to our local community to help raise awareness and support. We hope that we get enough demand to need to put on additional training sessions.”
Each course is delivered by a quality assured instructor and aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing. Delegates will also learn how to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues, be given the confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress and be trained to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support.
Rachel Hope, Estate Manager at Watchmoor Park, adds: “Watchmoor Park fully appreciates the requirement for all organisations to engage more with mental health initiatives and I wanted to demonstrate our support by attending this course myself. Thanks to Memiah, I, along with several of my colleagues across the park, can now identify the signs of mental health issues and have the confidence to provide meaningful assistance.”
The next courses are Tuesday 22 – Wednesday 23rd May, and Tuesday 17 – Wednesday 18th July (09:00-17:00 both days) and if you have any questions please send an email with your contact details to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please register at:
